Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition

Just as the word “holism” refers to body, mind, and spirit, the Clayton College of Natural Health holistic nutrition programs are based on the concept that the foods we eat affect all aspects of our being. Carried further, this concept applies not only to individuals, but to families, communities, and the earth itself. Beginning with the fundamentals, this program leads students deeper into specific nutrition topics, with information about nutrients as well as foods and healthy ways to prepare them. Two basic science courses increase students understanding of how the physical world works. Introductions to herbology and to healthy lifestyles offer additional resources. Because many graduates of CCNH use their knowledge to help others, this program also introduces the concepts of holistic nutrition consulting that are covered in detail in the master’s program.

By earning the Bachelor of Science in Holistic Nutrition, students learn strategies for achieving and maintaining health and also establish the foundation to continue their studies at a higher level. Those who wish to practice as holistic nutrition consultants should continue into the Master of Science in Holistic Nutrition program. Students who wish to pursue a master’s degree in natural health may do so after completing certain prerequisites.
