Doctor of Naturopathy

Those who earn an Doctor of Naturopathy degree often use their education as the foundation for a traditional naturopathic consulting practice. Topics in this program include the history and philosophy of traditional naturopathy, detoxification, iridology, body movement, arthritis, manual therapies, the effect of diet on health, and three electives. The program ends with courses that focus on business and practice skills, followed by the consulting practicum, in which students gain experience working with individuals one-to-one. These aspects of the program are vital for those who wish to work as traditional naturopaths.

Requirement for admission: A bachelor’s degree and completion of any necessary prerequisite courses.

  Prerequisites: $200 per course
If you hold a bachelor’s degree, then you may enter the Doctor of Naturopathy program after you successfully complete the following prerequisites:

  NU 200 Fundamentals of Holistic Nutrition
  BSC 252 Biology: The Science of Life
  NH 325 Cancer: Prevention and Politics
  HER 341 Introduction to Herbology
  HOM 361 Introduction to Homeopathy
  BSC 253 Anatomy and Physiology
  HER 441 Herbology II
  * One-hour course. No tuition charge to the student.
