American Herbalist Guild

Enrollment in the Herbal Studies Certificate programs includes a one-year complimentary membership in the American Herbalists Guild (AHG), the organization at the forefront in developing standards and guidelines for the practice of herbalism in the United States.

Family Herbalist Certificate — Level 1

This program provides the first steps for those who wish to become practicing herbalists. It is also valuable for those who simply want to use healing herbs for themselves and their families. In addition to basic nutrition and herbology courses, the program presents a range of topics from home remedies to aromatherapy, emphasizing those that are particularly useful in a home environment.

Requirement for admission: A high school degree or equivalent.

  NH 101 Issues of a Consulting Practice*
  FHC 110 Home Remedies and Simples
  FHC 120 Basic Nutrition
  FHC 130 General Herbology
  FHC 140 The Home Herbal Garden
  FHC 150 Women’s Health
  FHC 160 Aromatherapy
  FHC 170 Children’s Health
  FHC 180 Aging and Longevity
  *One-hour course. No tuition charge to the student.

After completing Herbal Studies Level 1, those seeking an advanced certificate(s) may elect to progress sequentially to Level 2 and beyond to the Level 3 Certificate. Discounts are available for multiple enrollments.
