What qualities do you look for in application essay?
How long does the essay need to be?
There is no required length; your essay should be as long as necessary to express yourself fully.
Signed Letters of Reference
What should the letters of reference be about? Is there a form or a certain format that it needs to be in?
The letters of reference can be written by friends, family, or co-workers. These letters can be character references or in regards to your work ethic. No specific formatting is necessary, though it is required that these letters are signed.
Do letters of reference need to be in a separate, sealed envelope?
No. All components of the scholarship application packet must be sent together to ensure consideration.
Documents to be Included
Do I need to send my transcripts in a sealed envelope? Do I need to resend transcripts if you already have them on file?
The transcripts do not need to be sent in a sealed envelope. Please include copies of transcripts in your packet rather than official transcripts. You will not need to resend transcripts copies. You will not need to resend transcripts if you are a newly enrolled student and we already have them in your student file.
Do I need to include/download the scholarship application form?

Questions Regarding Scholarship Details
Do you look at financial status when considering applicants?
Yes we do, but primarily we focus on the student’s vision and how they plan to use their education.
How many types of scholarships are available?
We have three types of scholarships available: the Peg Clayton Natural Health and Nutrition Scholarship, the Sarah Shelton Scholarship, and the Nella B. Oppenborn Herbology Scholarship.
When do you announce the recipients?
The recipients of the scholarships are announced on February 1 or the first business day following February 1.
How are applicants notified of scholarship results?
Scholarship recipients will be telephoned by the scholarship committee. Applicants that did not receive a scholarship will be notified by letter of regret within 10 days via U.S. Postal.
What is a C.V. or curriculum vitae?
It is a Latin term meaning “the course of one’s life.” It is a special type of resume that is traditionally used in the academic community. A C.V. will allow you to go into greater detail than a resume, as it will allow you to outline teaching and/or research experience, publications, etc.
