Conference Presenters

Wendy Arthur, M.D., is a practicing holistic physician whose training in Native American botanical healing helps her to integrate the best of both worlds as Director of Complementary and Holistic Healthcare at CCNH.
Daniel Gagnon, Certified Clinical Herbalist, is President of Herbs, Etc., Executive Director of Botanical Research and Education Institute, and former Chairman of the American Herbal Products Association.
Susie Hale, N.D., L.M.T., L.P.C., Director of Student and Graduate Affairs at CCNH, shares her practitioner experience by developing CCNH curricula that address legal practice issues, communication skills, and the art of the intake assessment.
 
Steven Horne, AHG, is President of the Tree of Light Institute. He is a former president of the American Herbalist Guild, and serves on the Board of Directors for the International Iridology Practitioners Association.
Ellen Tart Jensen, Ph.D., studied and collaborated for many years with Bernard Jensen, D.C., who is recognized as the Father of Iridology. She is founder of Lifestyle Counseling, and President of the International Iridology Practitioners Association.
 
Susan Kramer, Ph.D., AHG, the author of The Healthy Traveler, studied with Michael Tierra, and maintains an herbal practice in Atlanta, GA.
Phyllis D. Light, RH, L.M.T., AHG, is Director of Herbal Studies at CCNH. She is a practicing Herbalist, Reflexologist, and Reiki Master who specializes in traditional Appalachian herbal remedies.
Carl Middleton, N.D., is Vice President for Theology and Ethics with Catholic Health Initiatives. He has served on his alma mater’s CCNH advisory board since 2001.
Darryl Patton, B.S., author of Tommie Bass, Herb Doctor of Shinbone Ridge and America’s Goat Man, serves CCNH as an adjunct faculty member.
John Scalici, B.A., is founder of Get Rhythm!, offering hands-on drumming instruction on the relaxation benefits of Native American drumming.
Glinda Watts, Clinical Herbalist, is a herbalist in private practice in Memphis, TN, and has studied herbal pharmacy at the Southwest School of Botanical Medicine.
Matthew Wood, AHG, is an internationally reknowned herbalist and homeopath. He is the author of Seven Herbs, Plants as Teachers, Vitalism, and The Book of Herbal Wisdom.
