Wendy
Arthur, M.D., FAAFP, has practiced family medicine with a holistic approach for more than 20 years. As director of complementary and holistic healthcare at CCNH, she develops certification and degree program curricula for healthcare professionals. Arthur also travels and teaches about natural health to both the public and the medical community across the United States.
Vicki Chelf is a CCNH B.S. in holistic nutrition student, an artist, an author, and a vegetarian chef. She authors a regular column in Vegetarian Times, “Five Ingredients.” Her cookbooks include La Grande Cuisine Vegetariennean; Cooking with the Right Side of the Brain; The Arrowhead Mills Cookbook; For the Love of Garlic; and, Cooking for Life.
Annmarie Colbin, Ph.D., is an award-winning leader in the field of natural health and a highly sought-after lecturer and wellness consultant. She founded Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts™ in New York City in 1977. Colbin is the author of four books: The Book of Whole Meals; The Natural Gourmet; Food and Healing; and, Food and Our Bones: How to Prevent Osteoporosis Naturally.
Charles Eisenstein is the author of the critically acclaimed The Yoga of Eating and a frequent speaker at conferences and seminars. Eisenstein spent ten years in Taiwan, where he was a leading English-Chinese translator. Returning to the United States in 1998, he taught yoga for a few years before joining the faculty of Penn State's Department of Science, Technology, and Society. Eisenstein has since left academia to focus on his seminars and his new book, The Ascent of Humanity.
Daniel Gagnon, AHG, Medical Herbalist, is a certified clinical herbalist and president of Herbs, Etc. He has published numerous articles in Whole Foods, Herbs for Health, Prevention, Natural Foods Merchandiser, Nutrition Science News, Taste for Life, and Delicious Living magazines, and he frequently works as an herbal consultant for medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors, and acupuncturists.
Gloria Gilbère is CCNH N.D. and Ph.D. in natural health graduate and the author of seven books, including bestseller I was Poisoned By My Body, Invisible Illnesses and Pain/Inflammation Matters. Gilbčre serves on the board of directors for the Fibromyalgia Coalition International and is a member of the American Academy of Environmental Medicine.

Louise Gittleman, Ph.D. is continually breaking new ground
in all aspects of health—from natural hormone replacement to
effective and safe weight loss. She is the award winning author of
20 books on health and healing with more than 3.5 million copies
in print. Her latest NY Times and USA Today bestsellers are Before
the Change and The Fat Flush Plan. Ann Louise is CCNH’s
adjunct professor for Holistic Nutrition.
Rosemary Gladstar, Herbalist, has
been practicing, living, learning, teaching, and writing about herbs
for more than 30 years. She is the author of nine books, including the
popular Herbal Healing for Women and The Family Herbal.
Rosemary is the founder of United
Plant Savers, a non-profit grass roots organization dedicated to
the conservation and cultivation of at-risk medicinal plants.
Jeff Goin is the president of the Coalition for Natural Health. He is both a student and teacher at Vajrarupini Buddhist Center in San Diego, CA. Goin is appreciated by students for both his sense of humor and his clear, practical presentation of spiritual teachings.
Elson Haas, M.D., is a practicing physician of integrated medicine, and medical director of the Preventive Medical Center of Marin in San Rafael. He is also the author of the classic preventive medicine text Staying Healthy with the Seasons, as well as Staying Healthy with Nutrition, and A Cookbook for All Seasons.
Susie
Hale, N.D., Ph.D., is a graduate of CCNH and is Director
of Practitioner Education for the college. She is the author of “The
Clayton College Model of Empowerment for Natural Health Practice.” Integrating
the principles of traditional naturopathy with bodywork and counseling,
Susie works and teaches from the perspective that the mind/body/spirit
connection is required for true healing.
David Hoffman is on the advisory board of the American Botanical Council, a founding member and past president of the American Herbalist Guild, and is active in the environmental and peace movements. Hoffman studied for four years with the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. Hoffman has also co-founded a spiritual community in the Preseli Mountain area of West Wales.
Janet Starr Hull, CN is a CCNH Ph.D. in holistic nutrition graduate and the author of Sweet Poison: How the World's Most Popular Artificial Sweetener Is Killing Us, Splenda: Is It Safe Or Not?, and her very own aspartame detoxification protocol, Dr. Hull's 10-Step Detoxification Program. Hull is also an OSHA Certified environmental hazardous waste emergency response specialist and toxicologist, a former firefighter, and college professor.

Tart Jensen, Ph.D., a CCNH adjunct faculty member, has been involved with natural healing and nutrition since 1979 and studying iridology since 1983. She spent four years working alongside Dr. Bernard Jensen, considered by many to be the Father of Iridology in the United States. Ellen spent two years in Switzerland, where she studied natural healing methods at a health clinic.
David Leonard has been motivating and inspiring audiences for more than twenty years with his unique workshops and talks. Among his passions is working with the body through movement. Leonard’s dance workshops are offered around the globe, opening hearts and liberating the individual at many levels. He is the director of the Center for Conscious Living in Huntsville, Alabama.
Phyllis
D. Light, RH, Herbalist, director of herbal studies at CCNH, has more than 25 years’ experience as an herbalist, healer, and educator. Light travels the United States teaching and lecturing for both healthcare professionals and the general public. Her articles have appeared in national natural health magazines, newspapers, and journals. Light is considered an expert in Appalachian folk medicine healing techniques..
Edwin Marty is the co-founder and head of Jones Valley Urban Farm, a non-profit organization dedicated to reclaiming vacant urban lots and converting them to productive use. In addition to growing organic fruits, vegetables, and cut flowers, the urban farm is an important community resource that provides educational and economic opportunities in an urban setting.

Mitchell, B.Phil., a Certified Health Educator and CCNH International
Adjunct Professor, is a graduate of the University of Exeter
in the United Kingdom. He is the founder of the School
of Complementary Health, a registered and licensed school
in the U.K. Stewart is the author of Health
Essentials: Naturopathy, The
Complete Illustrated Guide to Massage, and Health
Essentials: Massage.
Linda Page, Ph.D., has been a leader in the natural health industry for more than 30 years. She is the author of Healthy Healing: A Guide to Self-Healing for Everyone, Cooking for Healthy Eating, and How to be Your Own Herbal Pharmacist. Linda is a graduate of CCNH and is currently adjunct faculty.
Groesbeck Parham, M.D., is a gynecologic surgeon specializing in cancer surgery at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at UAB and later studied in London and Khartoum, Sudan with the renowned surgeon Abbo Hassan Abbo. Parham’s current efforts include AIDS outreach work in Zambia, Africa.
Darryl
Patton, N.D., Herbalist, has been involved with plants
for more than 20 years. He is the author of Tommie Bass: Herb
Doctor of Shinbone Ridge, America’s Goat Man,
and Mountain Medicine: The Herbal Remedies of Tommie Bass.
Darryl is Adjunct Professor of Herbal Studies at CCNH and maintains
a practice in Gadsden, Alabama. He also teaches survival courses around
the world.
Jane Patton, AFAA, has worked as a certified fitness instructor for more than 16 years. She is certified in Pilates mat work as well as yoga. Jane is also a personal trainer and currently instructs classes at Gold’s Gym in Gadsden, Alabama. She teaches pilates and yoga classes for the community through the First United Methodist Church in Gadsden.
J.J. Virgin, CNS, CHFI, is a CCNH Ph.D. in holistic nutrition student. She is a board certified nutrition specialist with the American College of Nutrition and certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health and fitness instructor. Virgin is also currently the nutritionist for Dr. Phil’s Ultimate Weight Loss Challenge, appearing frequently on his nationally syndicated program.
Caroline Walrad, Ph.D., CN, has a degree in homeopathic philosophy. She maintains a homeopathic and nutritional practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she also offers study groups and classes on nutrition and homeopathy. Walrad travels and speaks on homeopathy, nutrition, and holistic philosophy.
Matthew Wood, AHG, is an herbalist and homeopath, as well as adjunct faculty at CCNH. He is an internationally renowned author and teacher with more than 20 years of experience. His books include Seven Herbs: Plants as Teachers, The Book of Herbal Wisdom, and The Practice of Traditional Western Herbalism.
Susan Wynn, D.V.M., is currently the president of the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association and founder and executive director of the Veterinary Botanical Medicine Association. She is the co-author of several books, including Veterinary Herbal Medicine, Manual of Natural Veterinary Medicine: Science and Tradition, and Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine: Principles and Practice.
