Natural Health: Online Summer Series

Plant Walk with Darryl Patton, MA, ND
and Making Herbal Teas with Phyllis Light, RH

In the first part of this two part session Darryl Patton will share the practical identification and usage of traditional Southern medicinal herbs. Based on the knowledge and herbal practice of Tommie Bass, we will hear about plants and discuss the preparation of remedies dating back to the mid-19th century. Particular attention will be paid to the qualities of both indigenous native plants as well as those plants that have been introduced to this country and have become so widespread as to be naturalized over wide regions of the United States.

In part two Phyllis Light will teach us how to make herbal teas. Since the dawn of time, humans have been using herbal teas as food and to help support body processes, enhance immunity, and build good health. In addition, they support the healthy functioning of organ systems. Herbal teas provide a simple, effective way to employ the healing power of plants.
