Bonjour. After being diagnosed with high cholesterol, Alain Braux, a classically trained French chef, decided to change his food habits and decreased his cholesterol by diet alone. In his first book, How to Lower your Cholesterol with French Gourmet Food: A Practical Guide, Braux provides information about cholesterol, how it can affect the body, and how to decrease and maintain a healthy cholesterol level with delectable, French gourmet food.
Braux is a formally educated “Nutritherapist”— working exclusively with food and food only to help his clients with their health conditions. After studying nutrition at several schools, Braux decided to "widen (his) nutrition horizon” by enrolling in the holistic nutrition program at Clayton College of Natural Health. Since obtaining his degree, Braux is now the executive chief of Peoples RX in Austin, Texas where he spends his days cooking nutritional, gourmet foods, as well as maintaining his nutritherapy practice — educating others on cooking and eating for health and pleasure.
If you are near Austin, be sure to stop by, say hello to Braux, and try some of his gluten-free, dairy-free, low-sugar desserts...we hear they are delicious.
