Guard Your Garden Naturally

Rose Care

Try putting tobacco in a blender and add water. Blend well and use this as a spray to help control aphids from destroying your beautiful roses.

Moth and Worm Repellent

A wonderful way to keep moths and worms from making food of your plants, try pouring soured milk on your cabbage and other plants. This may discourage moths and cabbage worms from settling in.

Fungus Ruining Your Plants?

Killing fungus can be difficult. Try putting equal parts of clematis, corn leaves, and the outer papery shell of garlic in a blender. Add enough water to cover and blend at high speed. Strain and spray affected plants until the fungus goes away.

Garden Diggers

To keep cats and dogs out of the vegetable and flower gardens, try sprinkling ginger around the beds. Cayenne pepper is another good spice to deter animals from messing with your plants!

Tomato Saver

Plant dill and/or borage with your tomatoes to repel hookworms.

Mole Out–of–Control

If moles are tearing up your garden, here are a couple of things to try. Try planting castor beans around the edge of the garden. You can also try planting Mexican Marigold as a cover crop. Turn it under in the fall for a great soil cleanser and a wonderful green manure. This will also repel rabbits, along with any soil borne pests.
