Naturally Gorgeous

Bring out your inner beauty (or handsomeness, for the men) with these quick, simple to prepare tips. All of the ingredients are probably already in your home and, if not, they can be easily obtained at most stores.

Strawberry Blemish Remover

Rub the face with a crushed strawberry. Leave it on for about 15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm, then cold water. This will help clear blemishes. Caution: Many people are allergic to strawberries. Try a patch test before proceeding to use the facial treatment.

Tone & Tighten Facial Skin

Mix together 2 tablespoons of unbeaten egg whites, 1 tablespoon powdered milk and 1/2 teaspoon of honey. Beat until well-blended. Apply to face and allow mixture to dry. Rinse with warm water and blot dry. Rinse face with herbal astringent.

Fresh Breath Makes Friends

This angelica mouthwash freshens the mouth and sweetens the breath. Use twice daily for most effective action. Pour 2 cups boiling water over 3 tablespoons of angelica seeds. Add peppermint, lemon verbena, caraway or rosemary for extra strength. Adding a little orris root will perfume the breath with the scent of violets. Cover and steep until cool. Strain and store in tightly closed container. Use a gargle to rinse the mouth.Caution: Some people are allergic to orris root.

Healthy & Happy Nails

To soften cuticles and strengthen the finger or toenails, mix together 3 tablespoons of almond oil, 3 tablespoons raw linseed oil, and 3 tablespoons of honey. Massage into nails and cuticles.

After Shave Alternative

Add 1 ounce dried lavender flowers and 1 ounce of sage to 2 cups of witch hazel. Place in a tightly closed jar and let sit for 1 week in a very warm area. Strain and rebottle. Very invigorating and has a nice clean scent.

Hair Setting Gel

Aloe vera makes a very good hair setting gel. It dries quickly and leaves the hair shiny. This works well with curly hair. It adds shine as well as working as a setting gel.

Not Another Commercial Cream Rinse

Instead of using commercial cream rinses that can harm your hair, try using this avocado conditioner. Chop an avocado in the blender until very fine. Massage into hair and leave on for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. It leaves the hair soft, shiny and bright.

Feel Good Mint Hair Tonic

Before you shampoo your hair, massage in the following herbal tea. Put 3 tablespoons of dried mint into 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Simmer for 15 minutes. Steep until cool. Strain and massage the tea into scalp. Stimulates the scalp.
