Create the perfect party with one of these fun drinks!
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
3 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
3 lemon slices
4 cranberry herbal tea bags
1 bottle white Zinfandel wine
2 to 4 tablespoons brandy
1/2 pint fresh strawberries, washed and trimmed
1 orange (unpeeled), washed and cut into 1–inch chunks
1 cup club soda
In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, cloves, cinnamon stick, and lemon. Simmer over medium heat, reduce heat to low. Simmer another 10 minutes. Remove pan from heat. Add in the tea bags, and let sit for 5 minutes.
Now remove solids with slotted spoon. Refrigerate the tea mixture until cool. Put into a large serving container. Add in wine and brandy. Now add orange and strawberries. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Just before serving, add club soda.
Substitutions: Sparkling juice for wine and 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of rum or brandy extract for each tablespoon of brandy.
3/4 cup sweet lemon juice
1/2 cup blood orange juice (2–3 blood oranges)
1 juice of lime
1/4 cup sugar (to taste)
4 cups water
2 herbal fruit tea bags, steeped
1 cup boiling water, and cooled (optional)
Squeeze the fruit juice into a pitcher, add sugar and water and stir. Add optional concentrated tea. Serve over ice.
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
Combine sugar and water in saucepan over low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved. Raise heat and boil mixture for 5 minutes. Cool and store in refrigerator until needed.
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 quart chilled apple juice
2 quarts chilled red wine
1 quart chilled ginger ale
Combine plain sugar syrup and lemon juice in large bowl, mix well. Stir in apple juice and wine. Add ginger ale last, blending well. Serve at once over ice.
Brew a condensed concoction of herbs like rosemary, thyme, sage, bay leaves, peppercorns, and some sugar. Strain and store in an old balsamic vinegar bottle in the fridge so it can be sprinkled.
Fill a glass with ice. Put in 1/2–1 1/2 teaspoons of dark balsamic vinegar. Put in a few sprinkles of “herbal” essence. Pour club soda or seltzer water over.
