Mid-Summer Tea Recipes

The pinnacle of summer is here with its warmth, beauty, and long days, and you need teas to complement the season!

Euphoria Tea

A fragrant, uplifting blend that’s sure to become a summer favorite. It’s best made from fresh herbs, but dried will do. Serve hot or iced.

Ingredients

1 part fennel (fresh leaves and stalks)
1 part lemon verbena leaves
1 part rose geranium leaves and flowers (organic)

Combine all herbs in a pot and cover with boiling water. Stir well, cover and steep 15 to 20 minutes. Serve with a little honey if desired.

Kathi’s Tropical Tea

Keep cool in the summer and take pleasure in knowing this blend is healthful as well as tasty! (Please note that the equivalent in this recipe for “part” is 3 tablespoons.)

Ingredients

1 part hibiscus flowers
1 part mint leaves
1 part lemongrass leaves
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
2 oranges (organic), sliced
1 papaya, sliced
1 mango, sliced (or other tropical fruit)

Bring two quarts water to a boil, turn off the heat, and add the herbs. Steep, covered, for 20 minutes and strain. Put fruit into a 2-quart jar and pour tea over. Refrigerate overnight, serve the next day with a hibiscus bloom floating on top!

Spaz Away Tea

Ingredients

This is an excellent tea for reliving the tension of aching muscles, or for those who had just a little too much summer fun. For muscle strain, add one part valerian root.

1 part chamomile flowers
1 part kava-kava root
1 part lemongrass leaves
1 part oatstraw
1/2 part spearmint leaves

Good Morning Blend

Rosemary Gladstar recommends this refreshing and lightly energizing blend to enhance any morning.

Ingredients

3 parts peppermint leaves
3 parts rose hips (organic)
1/2 part freshly grated ginger root
1/2 part ginkgo leaves
1/4 part rosemary leaves
1/8 part orange peel (organic)
a few star anise pods

Infuse and steep 15 to 20 minutes.
