Graduate Spotlight

Jimmie D. Hill, Ph.D. and N.D;
Also first graduate of CCNH’s new Iridology Certificate Program

In his last profession, Jimmie Hill co-owned four weekly newspapers for almost 20 years. Then in the late 1990s he traded all the stressful deadlines for regenerative lifelines, discovering the wondrous healings of natural health when his wife became physically ill.

“Fran was diagnosed with degenerative joint tissue disease, osteoporosis and bursititis. After two operations and the recommendation of more surgery, we decided to find our own way to regain her health.”

Fran’s road to rehabilitation has fit hand in hand with Jimmie’s natural health studies at Clayton College of Natural Health. He earned two doctoral degrees, with honors, and then established his private practice: Alternative Health.

Jimmie’s areas of specialization are iridology and tongue and fingernail analysis. In a typical day he will see five or six clients, each for a one-hour assessment or consultation. Many clients are referred by orthopedists, osteopaths, chiropractors, dentists or pediatricians. For the last nine years, Jimmie has also interacted closely with his local medical community by serving on the board of directors for Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Florida.

Many of Alternative Health’s clients have energy deficiencies that result from fibromyalgia and/or chronic fatigue syndrome. His first suggestion sometimes takes them by surprise: to start with a deep cleanse. “Many people are clogged up and poisoned by stagnant circulation and poor elimination,” he observes. He also sees a lot of parasitic invasion among American missionaries who serve in third-world countries. Whether you travel or not, part of his message is that probiotics are good for everybody.

Functional food choices – both for ease of digestion and for their pure nutritional value – are easy steps that anyone can take, from an educated state of awareness. He is pleased to note that his first granddaughter is a vegetarian from infancy. Another of his youngest clients is a three-year-old whose incessant itching and psoriasis have been soothed by something as simple as fish oil.

Jimmie Hill still maintains one link to his original publishing career by writing a syndicated column, Natural Health Corner, which appears in four Florida newspapers. His column recently addressed the benefits of buying locally grown produce and free-range eggs and chicken. He recommends the virtually fat-free buffalo steaks to replace beef, citing that the artificial hormones in meats, along with dangerous herbicides and pesticides, are clearly affecting humans’ reproductive health. Jimmie has recently become affiliated with Lane Labs, the makers of immunity rebuilding MGN-3, and will help them launch a new product this summer.

Whether he’s speaking one-on-one with clients or educating with the written word, Jimmie Hill encourages life-long learning. As one who reinvented his career in his mid-40s, during these last 10 years he continues to earn degrees and certificates while also improving his family’s health.

The recent natural birth of his first granddaughter has prompted Jimmie and his daughter, Angeleque, to collaborate on an upcoming brochure on how to have a baby naturally. Surely Jimmie’s newspaper columns will take on new life as well, as Marley grows into a naturally favorite subject – in print and in person.
