Erika Scherb, N.D. and Ph.D. in Natural Health

Erika Scherb with Lloyd Clayton.

Once Erika Scherb makes up her mind, she can make amazing things happen in her life. Early on Erika became so fascinated by a neighbor's Iridology chart that she decided to one day learn this science if the opportunity presented itself.

Many years later she found a book entitled The Science and Practice of Iridology written by Dr. Bernard Jensen, the Father of Iridology and author of more than 40 other books on naturopathic subjects. These books helped Erika to ultimately become certified in iridology by Dr. Bernard Jensen.

"In 1997 Dr. Bernard Jensen invited me to his seminar in Toronto, Canada. It was there that he picked me out of the large crowd for a demonstration," Erika recalls. "As he looked into my eyes he described my inherent weaknesses in tissues corresponding to regions of my body. Looking more deeply, he commented on seeing many healing lines, which indicate tissue regeneration."

Complimenting the student on her healing philosophy and her apparent good health, he asked Erika to what she attributed so many of her healing lines. Dr. Jensen was delighted and embarrassed with her answer: "Well, I've read all your books and I did what you said." Lacking for what to say he then turned to the audience and told them that they must always give some information to their client that will be of benefit to them. Thus, his single health recommendation was that nut milk drinks would be of benefit to her.

After their short conversation, Dr. Jensen again turned to the audience and announced, "I would trust my patients to her hands". In her delight, Erika immediately responded, "I would like that in writing! Can you do that for me?" A fellow student served as scribe and Dr. Jensen signed it. In his own handwriting he then added: "because she is abundant in energy to serve and uplift mankind."

It was at that same seminar Erika learned about CCNH. She enrolled in order to gain further knowledge and credentials in the teachings of drugless healing. Two years later she earned her first Clayton College degree, a Bachelor of Science in Natural Health. She then went on to earn her M.S. and Ph.D. in Natural Health, and her Doctor of Naturopathy.

"I was building my Iridology practice and studying every moment possible. I would stay up late studying and then literally tuck my books under my pillow." Her active mind stayed so driven by learning that sleep frequently eluded her. She would often awaken in the middle of the night to study some more before her Iridology workday began.

Born in Chile, South America, Erika grew up speaking German, Spanish and later English. Her mother was a registered nurse in Germany, England and Canada and instilled in her family the tenets of naturopathy.

Erika has become an Applied Kinesiologist. She observes that clients may initially resist making the mood/food connection because it takes time and patience to search out which foods or combinations are problematic.

Erika's practice, Living Well Naturally, is located near Albany, NY. She uses primarily iridology, sclerology, gait and postural analysis as the basis for assessing the health-level of her clients. To correct imbalances she may also suggest nutrition, herbs and whole food supplementation. She enjoys becoming a partner to her clients in helping them achieve better health.

Erika is a Board Certified Drugless Practitioner, Board Certified Alternative Practitioner, Certified Nutritional Consultant, an Applied Kinesiologist and Certified Isometric Muscle Balancing Instructor, and is a member of the International Foundation for Nutrition and Health, a member of the International Sclerology Institute, a Diplomate member of the American Association of Nutritional Consultants, and has been a Charter Member of the College of Iridology. She has received Continued Education Credits from Thomas Jefferson University, University of Miami School of Medicine, from seminars sponsored by the Applied Nutritional Services of New York, and the Advanced Iridology & Wholistic Healing Workshops in New York by Dr. Bodeen. Dr. Bernard Jensen, said of Dr. Bodeen "He knows more of my work than anyone." In addition to continuing her Iridology studies, with the International Iridology Institute, Erika is currently pursuing postgraduate studies from the Australian College of Phytotherapy and Texas Chiropractic College.
