Emmanuel Asenso

On the One Hand
An Alumni Interview with Emmanuel Kwame Asenso, Doctor of Naturopathy

Prior to CCNH, what was your educational experience?

I have an M.S. in Nursing from Howard University, Washington DC, with certification as a family nurse practitioner; and a B.S. in Nursing/Psychology from the University of Ghana. I also trained to become a health minister with Hallelujah Acres.

Have your studies of natural health involved job enhancement or a career change and/or personal healing?

Following a long allopathic career, I have come to understand and treasure the self-healing mechanisms designed by God, and that the cause of all human diseases is the result of a break down of the immune system or a lack of a balance in the human body. Through the application of the natural health principles, I am better able to offer the appropriate counsel on various healing modalities to clients who present with diversified health issues.

I plan to relocate to Ghana and bring natural health education to people who are needlessly suffering from the diseases of diet and lifestyle. Our new center for natural wellness — equipped with a gym, cafeteria, and a health food store — should be ready by mid-2009.

Are you serving as a teacher/coach?

As a Seventh Day Adventist, I have a natural passion in teaching health that combines the Bible, Spirit of prophecy, true science and common sense. This is why I founded Health Talk Inc. My life’s purpose involves sharing the wisdom of nature, and developing practical health programs to address health challenges.

For the past 10 years, I have been helping many individuals who suffer from diseases like cancer, diabetes, arthritis, heart disease, high blood pressure, etc. I have the passion and dedication to preach/teach health and I sincerely believe I have a divine calling to help people take charge of their own health through the seminars that I give and through natural approaches to health.

What would you like to convey about your own applications of mind/body/spirit of natural health?

We all are created by the same intelligent God and are designed to have a sound mind, body, and spirit or soul. We are to apply the natural laws of health for abundant life, which are embodied in the theories of natural healing-naturopathy. And to ensure a sound mind/body and spirit to stay healthy, we need the original diet and lifestyle (Genesis 1:29-31) given to humankind by God at creation!

Despite the advancement in technology and science, there is a serious pandemic in the development of the chronic killer diseases of affluence, which are unfortunately diet and lifestyle related. As seen in nature, sickness or disease begins when the diet and lifestyle of organisms are changed or altered over time. To come out of the confusion created in the media by some “experts” regarding nutrition and our health, we should encourage people to adopt the dietary prescription of Dr. Campbell’s book, The China Study. He has clearly researched and stated that we can win the war on cancer and prevent the proliferation of the diseases of lifestyle by adopting a whole foods, plant-based diet. This is God’s original diet for mankind!

The big inventions and the creation of new drugs whose names are difficult to pronounce haven’t offered adequate cures for chronic dis-ease. It is the simple and natural measures that give simple solutions. The human body has not changed since creation and would not change in the future. Good nutrients from a good diet will support the genes to prevent diseases. A bad diet will create bad genes, leading to ill-health. Therefore to have a sound mind/body/spirit, the global village should be helped to renew its mind by exposing it to simple truths about positive effects of a good diet and lifestyle. The public’s deception about diet and health should stop and people should be advised against the consumption of processed foods that are loaded with toxic chemical additives. The general public should be encouraged to eat as close to nature as possible-if good health is the ultimate goal.

Advancement in technology and science can take us to space, but when it comes to diet and health, God’s original prescription has never failed! For no true science can dispute the immutable powers of the Genesis diet of raw vegetables, fruits and whole grains and nuts.

In closing, tell us more about your future plans.

My commission will help both rich and poor to attain greater independence by addressing their health needs with simple, naturally cost effective measures. My primary goal is to help prospective clients understand natural health and healing.

As founder of Health Talk Inc, I have developed programs to convey the simple truth of naturopathy to people across cultural lines here in the USA and in Ghana, where I am developing my office to practice naturopathy without walls. I have developed MANYANOHA PAA, which is the acronym for the natural laws of health in Twi — my local dialect for my health programs and the ABLE Diet and Lifestyle program.

The main goal of Health Talk Inc is to create a health conscious community, since health consciousness leads to better health and better productivity. It takes great effort and pains to develop a center for natural wellness in Ghana and I would entreat anyone reading to pray for our healing ministry.

For children, students, and the poor who cannot afford to pay for the services at the Center for Natural Wellness, Manyanoha foundation (the non-profit section of the health ministry) will seek public support for our pro bono natural health programs. Future plans include:

  1. MANYANOHA Lifestyle Centers to provide education to the general public on the vegan lifestyle and its benefits
  2. Natural health education through role play
  3. Books and research in natural health principles
  4. Organic farming for vegetables and fruits.
