Reed Chandler

Reed Chandler, Doctor of Naturopathy
“Herbs Are Nature’s Medicine”

Reed Chandler of Temuco, Chile and his daughter, Nayyan Chandler, of Miami, FL, share a belief in natural health that bridges the distance of international borders. As reverent seekers of mind, body, and spirit harmony, they create wellness and help others harness the power of hope as a remedy for fear. Their own family personifies the word “miraculous” times three: with Nicolas, Arianna and Matias.

Reed is a CCNH graduate who divides his talents among three busy naturopathy offices in southern and central Chile. He also consults in the United States for several weeks each year, and has practiced in Argentina as well. Reed studied iridology with the renowned Dr. Bernard Jensen. He learned about dietary enzymes and amino acids from holistic nutrition pioneer Paul Bragg and orthomolecular medicine from the Finnish nutritionist Paavo Airiola.

Reed graduated from the Emerson College of Herbology in Canada and studied via distance learning with Australasian College of Herbal Studies. Following his doctoral program with Clayton College, along with campus–based training at the Latin American Institute of Naturopathy, Reed was proud to see his daughter become a student of Bach flower remedies. She is now studying holistic nutrition through CCNH Bachelor of Science studies, and plans to continue at the graduate level!

“With my own additional CCNH studies in Pediatric Homeopathy, it has been extra rewarding to see Nayyan’s understanding and practice of holistic child care reflected in the three vibrant little souls of her children,” he adds. Apparently the tenets of natural health reach, bilingually, throughout the Chandler family. Working with Florida–based www.alkalizer.com, Reed and his wife Ana Maria advocate the health–balancing effects of alkalized water. Reed’s older son, a personal trainer in California, is also attuned to natural healing.

“Bringing to the United States my knowledge of South American adaptogenic herbs — such as chuchuhuasi for joint integrity and adrenal function, the antiseptic matico for digestive issues, boldo as a liver tonic, graviola and cat’s claw for the immune system — I’ve also been able to introduce many of the Clayton Naturals herbal and homeopathic products to my Latin American clients. Many come as physician referrals, with degenerative issues such as MS, arthritis, lupus, HIV or cancer. Naturopathy offers a much–needed synergistic mindset to reach the causes of disease, not just symptoms.”

“I believe that God created something in nature for every illness, many of which are caused by our own unwise lifestyle choices,” he concludes. “Humankind needs to adopt a more natural way of living — physically, based on good water, fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains. But even more important, I believe, is our soul’s mastery of unity, harmony, and love.”
