Julie Disser, M.S. in Holistic Nutrition “The Journey to Vibrant Health”
Proud to have earned her bachelor’s degree in organizational management from a traditional university in the mid-90s “but also exhausted by the ordeal,” Julie Disser eagerly boarded the even faster-pace train of corporate America, “vowing to never go back to college,” she recalls with a laugh.
But then a health crisis caused Julie to rethink a lifetime of habits that were “less than mindful,” she says, “…little nuances that were not supportive of vibrant health.”
Preparing for overseas mission work in her mid-twenties, she had a significant reaction to a vaccination. “During this sudden perplexing physical and emotional upheaval, I came to realize how many nagging health issues had escalated throughout my life: irritable bowel syndrome, chronic ENT/sinus infections, acne and headaches. This downward spiral now included severe insomnia, fatigue, weight gain, anxiety, depression, even passing out — none of which doctors could explain.”
Her husband’s nutrition research led Julie to consciously alkalize her diet and re-hydrate her body. The results were astonishing, she says, adding that homeopathic remedies also provided both subtle and dramatic improvements.
“Realizing that never had I experienced truly vibrant health, I now felt very motivated to learn the fascinating ways of holistic nutrition and choose to live a much healthier life. Alongside my CCNH studies, I began preparing to leave my corporate job. I wanted to learn how to convey my own interest in Biblically-based healing philosophies to others — and this foundation has given me not only life-changing information but confidence and credibility in my daily contact with clients and colleagues.”
Having completed hundreds of hours of natural health research, Julie has compiled a book, Recipes for Living Well, whose main focus is on incorporating more highly nutritious raw, whole foods into our daily food plans.
“Too many people are suffering unnecessarily because as a culture we have adopted an unnatural diet, drink little water, and get little or no exercise or fresh air. We are stressed out, rarely rest and have little emotional or spiritual peace. By addressing each of these areas, I help people understand what their bodies need and how to provide for those needs in a way that is practical, fun and delicious.”
Julie Disser is the founder of Art of Vibrant Health: a natural approach to living well. She is board-certified in nutritional wellness by the American Naturopathic Certification Board and has earned health ministry certification as well.
Having completed her master’s degree in holistic nutrition, she is now enrolled in doctoral studies with CCNH.
