Prior to CCNH, what was your educational experience?
I was a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (with a master’s degree in nursing).
How did you become interested in natural health/holistic nutrition?
Partly because of my own spiritual journey and knowing that natural is always better; but the drive for formal education came from working with so many people who wanted some other option besides traditional medicine. I did not know enough to consult with them on it, so I felt I needed to further my education so that I could.
How did you decide on CCNH in particular…and how has this experience worked for you?
I asked around and did some research on Clayton College. I discovered it was well respected, and seemed to be a “gold standard” in the industry of natural health. It was reasonably priced, and seemed to cater to the adult learner. My experience with CCNH has been excellent.
What would you like to convey about your applications of mind/body/spirit health?
For healing to take place, one must have positive thoughts (mind), positive care (body), and a connection to a higher power (spirit).
Self-healing comes when we shut down our minds and get quiet, listen to and care for our body, and trust spirit (ours and the universal spirit). Healing comes from the inside out, and there are three parts to healing:
What else is on YOUR list, as to “how to best tell the story of you”…?
I originally thought that if a person changed how they “thought, felt and did” they would get better (and that is true)… but the process becomes more genuine, and quicker, when a person gets out of their head and into their body and becomes mindful of their spirit. I now know that the majority of our issues, problems, and illness come from avoidance. We are afraid of pain, discomfort, and chaos but without it nothing changes. Instead of numbing, anesthetizing, or avoiding pain, one should embrace it, listen to it, and transform it into joy… and find the gift that lies therein, ALWAYS.
