Michelle Boulton, candidate for Ph.D. in Natural Health
“A Family in Harmony”
There’s a whole world of natural healing energy in each of Michelle Boulton ’s hand-made Harmony Cone ear candles. Wrapping the earthy strands of Native American cornhusks, woven papyrus from India, airy cheesecloth from Italy, and food-quality organic beeswax fresh from local farms, each ear candle glows with TLC and personal attention to quality.
The bright idea for Harmony Cone came 14 years ago, when ENT surgery to implant ear tubes was billed as the only solution for her middle child’s chronic ear infections. In those days Michelle was a well-stressed corporate executive who didn’t like ultimatums, and it was her motherly intuition that gently reacquainted her with the strong wisdom of caring for the family’s total health – in mind, body and spirit.
It was a naturopath who suggested ear candling, and a one-hour session of three candles per ear was, simply, the end of the earaches.
This same empathetic N.D. gradually helped Michelle address her own growing emotional angst, which manifested as a vague malaise and an odd array of symptoms. “As we returned for his periodic follow-up, our holistic counselor quietly observed my snappish demeanor and spiraling fatigue,” she recalls. “Over time, he gently planted the seed that changing jobs might be a catalyst for my personal and family health and let’s just say that ear candling eventually made its way right into my brain.”
Developing a business plan for Harmony Cone, Michelle Boulton quickly reclaimed her creative confidence and high energy. Her home-spun all natural labor of love is a cottage industry in every sense of the word – rolling out thousands of environmentally-friendly natural health products each year from the comfort of her own home! With her husband’s diverse talents, Kevin breathed his own best energies into their brave new adventure, and soon all five of their children were learning, side by side, how to make candles and how to grow a business.
“We are able to home-school our children, and we have modeled a simple and highly satisfying way of life that appeals to many of our friends and neighbors. Our family-oriented company now gives many others a meaningful way to make a living while working together at home.
Harmony Cone even affords her family a dozen or more working vacations each year! Their RV takes them to natural health conferences and trade shows, where ear candling demonstrations warm the hearts of many others who are looking to regain balance without surgery or drugs.
“There’s a deeper energy balancing and clearing ability with ear candling that I’ve learned to perceive and develop during my Clayton studies,” she concludes. “Distance learning enabled me to earn my masters degree in natural health, and I’m almost done with my doctoral degree. Harmony Cone is how it all comes together, for my family and for so many others.”
