Jeffry Aufderheide, Candidate for M.S. in Holistic Nutrition

Perhaps you’ve wondered: Just how does a new student begin his or her Clayton College admissions process? Here are excerpts from the enrollment essay submitted by Jeffry Aufderheide of Colorado.

“Generation Rescue: Making a Difference”

As more and more health related challenges seem to be affecting today’s society, it’s been my experience that rarely is one called to a higher purpose before being tested through the fires of life. One of the greatest trials that I am experiencing is my son’s odyssey with vaccines and antibiotics; he is dealing with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. I firmly believe that it is my higher calling to humbly serve these children.

With my Clayton College experience I intend to address specific challenges, both within families and also with external perceptions. First and foremost, I would like to bridge the gap between parents and current medical practices. Education has been instrumental many times, in speaking with friends and colleagues who have had an enormous impact in how they view what ‘health’ and ‘healthy’ really mean.

I initially started this task through participating in a group called Generation Rescue. This group attempts to help parents answer questions they may have concerning Autism and treating this horrific plague. I have felt so passionate about this experience that I want to formalize my interactions through gaining an education in natural health…

We all have the ability to heal the right way: naturally. I want to make a difference in this world and I feel strongly that an education with CCNH will allow me to embark on this endeavor.
