Jaline Castell, Candidate for Bachelor of Science in Natural Health

Perhaps you’ve wondered… Just how does a new student begin his or her Clayton College admissions process? Here are excerpts from the enrollment essay submitted by Jaline Castell of Utah.

Turning America’s Health Habits Around

“Hundreds of years before there were pharmacies on every corner and one more pill to help correct what another pill had done, Native Americans used herbs to heal wounds and to make their own medicines. It’s nature that keeps us alive. Nature is a resource that won’t make us sick from side effects and it won’t make our environment sick from manufacturing processes…

Throughout my life I have seen the many benefits of natural health such as herbal supplements and Reiki (the rebalancing of mind, body and spirit energies). In my opinion, Americans depend too much on others for healing when in so many cases we can gain the knowledge to heal ourselves…

From my learning I want to help turn things around and teach others about natural health. I want to help increase the number of healthy people in our society by helping others learn how to stay healthier for longer periods of time.”
