Perhaps you’ve wondered… Just how does a new student begin his or her Clayton College admissions process? Here are excerpts from the enrollment essay submitted by Anita McCormack of Missouri. With an M.S. in Social Work, Anita is a Reiki master and hypnotherapist.

“I want to help promote wellness and prevent dis-ease”

Our world today is full of toxic substances, toxic noises, and toxic energies of all kinds. In the past we have been led to believe that the medical community had all the answers and only they could “heal”… and yet physical illnesses such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer, alongside various mental imbalances, continue to ravage more lives each year. “Cures” are elusive.

…Many physicians have not been taught the incredible effects possible with natural substances, proper nutrition, detoxification, and other modalities to support the body’s own natural ability to heal itself. However, things are changing and I want to be part of that change.

…There has been phenomenal growth in the use of health foods and natural remedies in recent years, and more medical professionals now seek to learn more about nutrition and herbs. There is a need for more individuals trained to guide people through the myriad options regarding natural products and services, to help pinpoint those which may serve as most beneficial for specific conditions — and, even better, to help promote wellness.
