Susan Negus, Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition Candidate and Howard Davis, Ph.D. in Holistic Nutrition candidate

During the cutthroat 1980's in corporate America, Negus was a buttoned-down portfolio analyst whose daily fatigue and chronic skin problems were diagnosed as symptoms of lupus, a serious autoimmune, inflammatory viral disease for which conventional medical treatments are typically ineffective. During a business presentation in Los Angeles, she met a Malayan naturopath who changed her life.

Insisting that she "start immediately, not next week," he showed Negus that restoring her health actually involved relatively simple and do-able changes, such as the use of ginseng, green tea, gotu kola, royal jelly, flax oil, aloe juice – along with making a serious commitment to stress management with daily exercise and proper rest.

Naturally rebalancing her health felt so empowering that she soon made a career change as well, enrolling in a CCNH doctoral program in 1993. The next year she met her future business partner, Howard Davis, through a mutual friend.

They ultimately co-founded a new company called Dreamous, with Los Angeles offices on Wilshire Boulevard, "Avenue of the Stars."

According to Davis, "A friend gave me a purifying herbal mask and I literally dreamt of a cold process for homeopathic skin care, to help preserve the good looks of L.A.'s 'beautiful people'. So we called the company 'Dreamous' because its first products were geared to the rich and famous."

Their Dreamous product line now includes homeopathic human growth hormone (HGH) products, Time Eraser facial care products, and Trauma Fix for scars. They also produce private label products for weight management, immunity-boosting, anti-aging and more.

Davis already enjoyed a life-long affinity for natural health as well as holistic nutrition. He had worked at fitness facilities and health food stores, and had always enjoyed the challenge of finding his own solutions to life's health challenges.

Their business partnership brought Susan's knowledge of strategic planning, operations and marketing into alignment with Howard's scientific, inventive nature. Both are volunteer directors with the American Holistic Health Association and frequent contributors to its newsletter, AhHa!
