Graduates

Mark Brudnak, Ph.D., N.D., 1999, is often cited in peer-reviewed scientific literature and sought out worldwide as a leading expert and speaker on probiotics, enzymes, and functional carbohydrates. He is the originator of the term "genomeceuticals," which denotes the natural ingredients that beneficially affect gene expression. Mark's new book, The Probiotic Solution, is available for purchase at www.dragondoor.com/b25.html. According to Mark, probiotics have been shown to combat cancer, reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by up to 78%, effectively manage weight loss, and offer new hope for diabetes, Alzheimer's and Down Syndrome among many other uses.

Karen Frey, B.S.N.H., 2002, is currently working as a data coordinator at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland Ohio. In 2002 a Center for Integrative Medicine was formed and hospital employees were asked if they wanted to participate in any capacity on any of the committees. The committees are pharmaceutical/herbal, general group, nutrition, mind/body, herbal, and massage and reiki/touch. The groups are receiving grants to study alternative healing. Karen finds it most encouraging that a major American hospital would think to add these options to their world-class health care.

Natural Trends' mission is to provide the local community with distinctively fine quality services and resources, consequently inspiring and empowering them to live in an ongoing and progressively more joyous state of harmony, whole- ness, and well being. Ronit believes that this concept is greatly needed in the north Dallas, Plano, and Frisco area. For more information, please visit the Web site: www.naturaltrends.biz.

He is proud to be a CNC (Certified Nutritional Consultant) and continues to assess nutritional imbalance and to offer professional suggestions for improvement. Pete takes a holistic approach that focuses on the body's ability to heal itself.
