Introduction
Although this is the first Holistic Times issue of a new year, this year is definitely not an ordinary year. This year, CCNH turns 25! 2005 also marks the Holistic Times’ 12th anniversary (as well as the 12th employment anniversary of a certain newsletter editor and Web site coordinator). It’s been a supreme pleasure to establish, grow, edit, and write for the newsletter for all these years. I have had the joy of seeing it evolve from a bi-annual to a quarterly newsletter, from a four-page infant to a 24 page giant, and from a two-color to a full-color publication. Circulation has grown to 22,000 issues per quarter, or almost 100,000 copies of our, your, college’s newsletter scattered across the globe per year!
On a personal level, it amazes me at times to think that I have been here for half of CCNH’s evolution, and those 12 years represent a third of my life. I have been fortunate to work here and am grateful to have had hands-on involvement in the college’s growth. The staff is a second family, and I think that feeling goes for each of us here at CCNH, from the brand new to the oldtimers like me. I have grown and evolved with many of the staff and with the college. We have matured together.
On a professional level, being here for 12 years has allowed me to take part in many CCNH milestones, the biggest, of course, being our 25th anniversary this year! One of my favorite milestones was our first leap into cyberspace in 1995 when we began using e-mail to communicate with students. That now seemingly simple event actually changed my entire world at work—little did I know that ten years later I would coordinate a 700+ page Web site! I have seen many accomplishments in my time here, and, with both the longer tenured and our most recent employees, together we’ll share some of those happy milestones with you in each issue of the Holistic Times this year.
Inside this issue of Holistic Times you’ll find a lot of celebrating! We are celebrating the new year and our 25th year by introducing new technology that will enhance the learning experience, as well as new academic programs to meet the demands of the growing field of natural health. We invite you to party with us all year long!
