What's New in Academics

At the risk of repeating what others have written in this edition of Holistic Times, I must mention the amazing success of this year's Natural Health Conference. Our speakers, participants, environment and experience were nothing short of fabulous. The Thursday night 25th anniversary celebration was a delight and a great time was had by all. If you were there this year, thank you for your attendance and involvement in this invigorating time and if you were not there, I encourage you to strongly consider attending next year. It is truly a synergistic experience.

Although the academic department has been quite busy getting ready for and recovering from the conference, we are also busy grading and chatting in WebCTŠ. This exceptional learning system has been a tremendous success for CCNH. In the 10 short weeks since implementation, tests submitted in WebCTŠ already account for 20% of all tests received at CCNH. Students who are not using WebCTŠ for testing are still enjoying its usefulness for chats and online discussions. So far we have 1800 students using WebCTŠ and we will likely reach 2000 users by the end of June.

Our goal is to transition all students still testing in Assess2Learn into WebCT© during the next several months. Students who currently have accounts in Assess2Learn should have received transition instructions from our IT Coordinator, Kristi Fletcher, in mid-May. If you have any questions about changing from Assess2Learn to WebCT© for testing, please contact Kristi at webct@ccnh.edu. I think you'll find it very user friendly. Also, with WebCT© you can format your projects with bullets, bolding and other formatting options, and it stays there!
