1996 MS in Natural Health and
2001 Doctor of Naturopathy
graduate. Diane Gioia-Bargonetti,
naturopath at the A.R.E. in New
York City, has been invited to be
a COPR Associate. Dr. Di (as she
is called by her friends, coworkers
and clients) has
enthusiastically accepted this
appointment and looks forward
to making a difference in the
healthcare philosophy of America.
The Director's Council of Public
Representatives (COPR) is a
federal advisory committee, made
up of members of the public, who
advise the National Institutes of
Health (NIH) Director on issues
related to public participation in
NIH activities, outreach efforts,
and other matters of public
interest.
BILL MISNER,
1995 PhD in Holistic Nutrition
graduate. Bill recently had
another paper published in the
April 2005 issue of the Townsend
Letter for Doctors and Patients,
an original research paper was
published, entitled "Food May
not provide sufficient micronutrients
to avoid deficiency." The
research involved computeranalysis
of the diets of 20 subjects
(10 men and 10 women) to determine
if a presumed "balanced
diet" consumed without supplements
provided the RDI
deficiency-preventative dose. For

LINDA T. NELSON,
1997 PhD in Holistic Nutrition
and 2001 Doctor of Naturopathy
graduate. Linda, a naturopathic
specialist, has devoted more than
25 years of research to
fibromyalgia and candida. She has
developed "lifestyle change
programs" that are used in more
than 2000 wellness centers, both
domestically and abroad. Linda is
the author of Living Symptom
Free: Fibromyalgia & Candida.
The book addresses the causes of
fibromyalgia and candida, the

KIMBERLY PUGH,
2004 PhD in Natural Health
graduate. Kimberly is a registered
nurse and a reiki practitioner. She
notes that she is "incorporating
everything she learned from
CCNH into her nursing practice."
Kimberly's dissertation for the
PhD program, The Effect of Reiki
on Decreasing Episodes of
Insomnia and Improving Sleep
Patterns, was recently published

the first natural health dissertation
to be published on that particular
