More and more people are seeking information because they want to take an active role in staying healthy. Therefore, traditional naturopaths and lifestyle consultants are in great demand. CCNH’s almost 30-year history has proven that the distance learning format for natural health is highly successful. Distance learning at CCNH offers a convenient alternative to a campus-based education at a cost far below the tuition rates of most on-campus colleges. CCNH offers a unique educational program emphasizing health and wholeness. Students create their own learning environment, study at their own pace, and fit their studies into their own lifestyle. Degree Programs CCNH offers B.S., M.S., and Ed.D., degrees in Natural Health, Holistic Nutrition, and Holistic Health and Wellness. Students in natural health programs take courses on such topics as: mind/body healing, alternative health practices, herbology, homeopathy, naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, detoxification, iridology, and the human energy field. Students in holistic nutrition programs can take courses in holistic health and lifestyles, dietary influences on disease, nutritional therapies, antioxidants, psychodietetics, and oriental perspectives on nutrition. Certificate Programs CCNH also offers specialized certificate programs for students interested in the healing power of herbs, iridology theory and practice, holistic care for companion animals, and natural wellness. The Herbal Studies program has three levels: Family Herbalist, Consulting Herbalist, and Master Herbalist. Students in this program take courses in home remedies, general herbology, herbal gardening, women's health, aromatherapy, history of herbalism, Native American ethnobotany, plant identification, and herbal nutrition. The Natural Wellness Studies program offers a Natural Wellness certificate. Course topics include alternative modalities, energy techniques, integrative healthcare, Bach flower remedies, pediatric homeopathy, stress reduction, vitamin and mineral therapies, and herbs for the elderly. The Iridology program provides training that is ideal for today's health or nutrition consultant. Graduates may apply for certification with the International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA). Course topics include anatomy and physiology, and iridology theory and practice. The Companion Animal Studies program is designed for those who are caring for their own animal companions. Course topics include bodywork, herbology, and other modalities appropriate for animal care.
