Clayton
College of Natural Health
Celebrates Herb Day October 13, 2007
9.25.2007,
Alabama—Clayton College of Natural Health is celebrating
Herb Day October 13, 2007, by encouraging our herbal studies
students to get involved in both local and national events that
are dedicated to promoting the study, use and preservation of
herbs and medicinal plants.
In
celebration of the day’s
events, Clayton College of Natural Health has sent an e-mail
to all herbal studies students encouraging them to get involved
on the local and national levels. Students are encouraged to
participate in local activities such as events held at their
local botanical gardens or other plant and flower societies.
Students
are also encouraged to join United Plant Savers. CCNH is a corporate
member of United Plant Savers (UpS), one of the nonprofit organizations
that created Herb Day. Since its founding in 1994, UpS has been
educating the public about native wild medicinal plants, supporting
organic cultivation and agricultural practices with the hope
that businesses, individuals, schools, and corporations will help replant those that are at risk in today’s
world.
Every
day is an herb day at CCNH thanks to its excellent herbal studies
curriculum and qualified faculty experts, including Director
of Herbal Studies Phyllis D. Light. The college offers full
certificate programs in herbal studies, as well as concentrations
that can be added on to any degree program.
