College of Natural Health’s New Master’s Program
in Holistic Nutrition Approved by National Association of Nutrition Professionals

Alabama—Clayton College of Natural Health’s new
master’s of science in holistic nutrition degree has been
approved by the National Association of Nutrition Professionals
(NANP). Graduates of the program will now be eligible to take
the NANP holistic nutrition board exam.
The
new program was designed to develop consulting and business
skills for future holistic nutrition practitioners, according
to Crystal McVey, CCNH nutrition faculty member and co-developer
of the program. “We are
pleased that the program has been approved by NANP, signifying
that it has met the highest standards in the field of holistic
nutrition education,” said McVey.
Introduced
this fall, the new master’s of science in
holistic nutrition degree program features a strengthened anatomy
and physiology component, a deeper study of nutritional requirements
through the lifespan and an emphasis on preparing graduates
to become holistic nutrition practitioners. In addition to being
eligible to sit for the exam, graduates of this program will
be eligible for NANP membership.
Students
in the master’s program complete any needed prerequisites
and two required phases that include courses such as Human Physiology;
Biochemical Individuality; Nutrition throughout Life; Introduction
to Clinical Nutrition; and, Community Nutrition. The revised
program now offers the choice to follow a practice track or
an academic track as the third phase.

tool and as an approach to managing several of today’s
