Meet
the Experts of Natural Health:
CCNH Director of Herbal Studies,
Phyllis D. Light, RH, Herbalist

Alabama—Clayton College of Natural Health is proud to have expert faculty,
adjunct faculty and directors of our natural health and holistic nutrition programs.
CCNH Director of Herbal Studies, Phyllis D. Light, RH, Herbalist, is one such
expert who is active in the herbal community. Light is a versatile and frequently
requested presenter at numerous herbal studies and natural health conferences,
and she is often sought out for interviews, articles and to provide expert commentary
in editorial pieces. She can also be found representing CCNH on the natural health
conference and trade show circuits.
Light,
a fourth generation herbalist, practitioner, and teacher, has published
articles in industry magazines such as Vitamin Retailer,
Winds of Change and Awakenings. She was recently interviewed
by Greenwise magazine, the healthy lifestyle publication of Publix
grocery stores. Light is also the author of the upcoming book The Principles
and Practice of Appalachian Medicine.
Light
recently presented at CCNH’s fifth annual natural health conference on topics
such as digestive health and enhancing natural immunity with herbs and nutrition.
She will also be speaking at the sixth annual conference scheduled April 19-22,
2007.
Light
will be one of the tour leaders for CCNH’s September 2006 Appalachian
Herbal Mountain Medicine Tour. Participants will enjoy the hands-on
study of medicinal plants and herbal healing traditions in the historical
Chattanooga, Tennessee area. Light will lead a hands-on demonstration of
how to create your own herbal medicine chest and share stories of her Native

October 26—28, Light will be representing Clayton College at the annual
American Herbalist Guild Conference in Boulder, Colorado.
CCNH
is proud to have Light as a faculty member. Her expertise in the areas of the

the natural health community. She is an excellent example of how our faculty is
both educating the leaders of natural health and becoming the leaders of natural
